In case you forgot how fun it was to dress up for Halloween, Kim Chiu's showstopping take on a mummy costume at the #BlackMagic party might remind you. She recreated Chanel Iman's undead ensemble at Heidi Klum's costume party in 2016, giving it a bloodier, action movie star-like spin.
Kim's "bandages" composed of a matching top, skirt, and thigh high boots by designer Aurea Vinluan. The tattered fabric mirrors Chanel's costume almost exactly, including the cloth-wrapped high ponytail, but the Filipina actress made it her own by covering the costume in blood stains.
To add more to the zombie look, Kim tapped makeup artist Sylvina Lopez (or @slomakeup) to create a total of seven prosthetic wounds on her face, neck, and body. "She wanted [her costume] to be scarier [than Chanel's] so I added the wounds and worked with her stylist Adrianne Concepcion about placement," Slo tells Preview.
According to the makeup artist, she used a combination of a silicone compound and iridescent pigment from Make Up For Ever's Flash palette to make the gashes on the actress' skin. To mimic the ghastly complexion of a mummy, she applied a mix of a white and light olive-toned foundation and contoured Kim's face with cool-toned brown and black powders. And because even the undead needs her glow, Slo dusted some blue shimmer on the high points of Kim's face instead of the usual golden sheen.
