Now that 2014 is officially over, it’s time to let go of the ugly past and move on only with the good ones worth keeping. And just like your lumpy blue sweater that’s been begging for its retirement, we've rounded up some beauty habits that you need to ditch, stat! Listen up, ladies: These beauty trends are as dead as last year’s news. So if you want to step up your style game this 2015, read on and bid these trends a bittersweet goodbye.
Its popularity is long overdue and even though we appreciate how low maintenance it can be, it’s time to move on and try something new. After all, you’ve already spent a reasonable amount of time ignoring people who were looking at you as if you don’t have a penny to spare for a retouch; so don’t you think you at least owe it to yourself to take a trip to the salon?
Oh, trust us: We appreciate the wonders of contouring─we do, we do, we do! But it’s a whole different story when you start walking inside a room looking like a completely different person after applying makeup. We all yearn for Angelina Jolie’s perfect bone structure, but unless you’re trying to execute a #makeuptransformation project, please go easy on that MAC NW40. You can leave that to the Kim Kardashians of the world.
Eyebrows were a big thing in 2014. And actually, it still is. But if you think smudging that dark brown liner all over your brows is helping you achieve a Cara Delevingne look, you’re only fooling yourself. Tidy, defined brows are still in, but those scary thick lines drawn above your eyelids like a tattoo? They’ve got to go, girl!
EXTRA LONG NAILS
Sure, nail art and glittery polish can be pretty. But when your nails are inches longer than they should be, that pretty is easily replaced by the word scary. Well-groomed tips are much classier, so do yourself a favor and give those a trim now, will you? Besides, nobody likes being around a person who looks like she can scratch someone's eyeballs out.
We get it, it’s all pretty and dreamy. We even once turned the spotlight to the local celebs sporting this candy-colored hair trend, because we thought it’s cute, too. But to be fair, we’re already over this phase of hardcore bleaching. This 2015, it’s about time we take good care of our tresses again and try to remedy the damage that all those harmful chemicals have caused.
