Beauty Trends: Philippine Fashion Week Spring/summer 2014 Find out which beauty trends stood out at the Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Week.

We've just wrapped up Philippine Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2014 last Sunday and we have rounded up the beauty trends that stood out at the runway. As soon as you've finished reading our list, we're pretty sure you wouldn't want to wait for March to wear these oh-so-irresistible trends.

Sultry Stares

Smoked out, dark lids never go out of style. We spotted bold smolders at almost every runway show. Designers Albert Andrada, Jaki Peñalosa, Norman Noriega, Sydney Perez Sio, Martin Bautista, Richard Papa, Roland Mendoza, and Ronaldo Arnaldo had their muses move over to the dark side, ready for all the summer shindigs and cocktail parties abound.

Hello, Bright Eyes

Color is your ultimate weapon! We were delighted to see saturated pops of colors in the eyes and lips of the models in Happy Andrada, Alodia Cecilia, Lizanne Cua, Tina Daniac, Arnold Galang, Oz Go, John Guarnes, Melchor Guinto, Lyle Ibanez, Roland Lirio, Santi Obecena, Yako Reyes, and Randall Solomon. If you’re clueless on how to cop this trend, take a cue from our recent video tutorial on how to add a colorful spin to your makeup routine.

Slim Shady

Living in a tropical country, temperatures constantly rise up, demanding the need for shelter against the sun’s blazing heat. Veejay Floresca, Chris Diaz, Yako Reyes, and Russel Villafuerte created stylish headgear designed to keep your face shaded and fashionable.

It’s a Wrap

We were delighted to see turbans, headbands, and other head candies at Happy Andrada, JunJun Cambe, Jian Lasala, Russel Villafuerte, and Yvonne Quisimbing. We’ve always found wearing headbands and headwraps stylishly functional during the warmer months. Having your hair away from your face and neck allows the summer breeze to properly ventilate every pore on your skin. Plus, headpieces provide instant oomph to your look.

The Side Sweep

Xernan Orticio, Jaki Peñalosa, Oz Go, and Bo Parcon chose to pair asymmetric, side-swept hairstyles with their creations.  It doesn’t matter what face shape you’re born with. This hairstyle is guaranteed to flatter all face shapes.

Buns and Tails

Tying your hair up is cooler than ever as dictated by Albert Andrada, Ben Farrales, Frederick Policarpio, Erwin Tan, Gil Macaibay, Harley Ruedas, Jaz Cerezo, and Philip Tampus. All their models sashayed the runway sporting our favorite go-to hairstyle.

Special Mention: Face Masks

We do understand that this trend is not recommended for real life, but we applaud designers Jerome Salaya Ang and Dave Ocampo for showing us that going incognito has never been this chic.
