After finishing an entire year of fashion tips by zodiac sign, we move on to what astrology has to say about you in the beauty department. For the first entry of what will be another year-long series, we zoom in on the roaring king of the jungle (or in this case, the zodiac), Leo.
Period: July 23 to August 22
Symbol: The Lion
Celebrity sign sisters: Sarah Geronimo, Kim Jones, Iza Calzado, Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Lopez, Selena Gomez, Madonna
- Attractive yet dominating
- Doesn’t mind attention, and in fact, can sometimes even crave for it
- Not afraid to try a new trend or to stand out and take risks
Similar to the basic personality traits we applied to our Zodiac Style entry on Leo; your hair, makeup, and even nail polish choices have a lot to do with your sign. See our beauty guide below.
Not necessarily for namesake and symbol purposes, Leos look great with blown out big hair like that of a lion’s, primarily because it suits their personality. Curled to perfection to get the attention a Leo loves, "big hair, don’t care" is likely a motto they will gladly use as a caption for a selfie. But there are also those confident Leos who are bold enough to chop off their signature locks simply because they are not afraid to try something new. Whether you decide to stick to your long and shiny hair, or your edgy short ‘do, all you need to remember is to own the look you are gunning for.
Often trying out the beauty risks females born under the other signs are afraid of, Leos are relatively more adventurous with their makeup looks. Liquid eyeliners, smoky eyes, and of course, the red lip that they pull off so well (after all, the fire is their element), it's safe to say that a Leo's beauty kit is filled to the brim. No no-makeup looks here.
Same with hair and makeup, the choice of nail lacquer is also dependent on the personality of a Leo. Not everyone can pull off metallic tips, but a Leo loves donning game-changers. We suggest you go for gold if given the option because aside from red, it is a color attached to the astrological sign.
