If there is a time of the year when everyone (meaning students and grown-ups alike) gets a legit more-than-just-a-weekend-holiday, it would have to be the Christmas break. Countless parties and family celebrations, not to mention a slight shift in the weather that we look forward to yearly, can cause even the most strict friend in the bunch to let go, let loose and over-relax. It is easy to get into a spiral of folly when being merry, which is why we’re here to give you a friendly reminder before you hit the crazy festivities we’re sure has already begun.
FORGETTING TO WASH YOUR FACE
After a long night of partying, small talk, dancing, drinking, and over stuffing yourself with all the Holiday ham and desserts you can eat in the world, hitting the sack suddenly seems like the only thing right to do. It happens to the best of us so there’s no use denying it. Ladies, our comfy bed can be quite luring so this is when you will need that strong woman in you to come out! Don’t fall into the trap and please wash off all the makeup before you give in. If it’s really not possible, at least wipe it away with a product that is made exactly for moments like this.
NOT DRINKING ENOUGH WATER
When there’s free booze everywhere you go, it’s easy to forget to ask for a glass of good old H2O. Ladies, dehydration doesn’t only happen when it’s 34 degrees and you’re at the beach. Drinking the good stuff almost every night is actually even more reason for you to down more of the refreshing water. P.S. Don’t want a hangover in the morning? Drink at least a glass of water before sleeping.
NOT PUTTING ON SUNBLOCK
Just because it’s cloudy and gloomy doesn’t mean the sun is not there. Do yourself a favor and tell us that you will make it a point to wear sunblock everyday for the rest of your life? And this means, wherever you may be, regardless of the weather.
STAYING IN A WARM BATH FOR TOO LONG
With the chilly weather and finally a chance to get a nice long bath, we get it, a refreshing warm shower where you’ll probably burst into a song is inevitable. Just remember not to turn up the heater to almost boiling point so you don’t end up damaging your skin. Also please be mindful of the fact that hot water opens up yours pores so be sure to keep it to a nice warm level and always end your cleansing session with cold water to seal back those tiny but unwanted holes.
