Do you ever wonder how they always look so fresh? Fortunately, we know the answer! Preview was able to ask several Binibining Pilipinas 2022 candidates all about their beauty and skin tips that they’ve learned over time. While having gorgeous skin (with or without makeup) seems to be a natural thing for them, these beauty queens do have a few tricks up their sleeve!

1. Get a lot of sleep.
Although usually overlooked, a healthy amount of sleep time brings about both physical and mental benefits! "I want to have eight to 10 hours of sleep," Iloilo city representative Karen Mendoza shares. Sleeping well will let your body achieve uninterrupted chance to recuperate and rejuvenate, giving you a healthier glow from within!
2. Wear sunscreen.
You've probably heard countless of times from professionals or even your favorite influencers about the importance of using sunscreen or sublock. These do not only protect your skin from the harmful UV rays of the sun, but they can also aid in making you look youthful. "You shouldn't go without any sunblock, and even if you're just staying at home," Misamis Oriental reprentative Esel Pabillaran tells Preview.
3. Always take off your makeup.
Beauty queens spend most of their days wearing a full face of makeup, and that can lead to skin problems if not taken off properly. "It's important to thoroughly remove your makeup, especially at night," says Camarines Sur representative Kryzzia Moreno.
"After a long a day, you really have to remove the makeup so that it will not get into your pores." Effective cleansing your face after wearing makeup ensures that all the makeup products, oil, and dirt are completely off your skin.
4. Use ice to de-puff your skin.
Ironically, beauty queens don't always get enough beauty rest. As a result, they some times wake up looking tired. So what's their secret to looking fresh in the morning? Ice! "I just always put ice on my eyebags and all over my face and it feels fresh, even if you get like thirty minutes of sleep," says Tarlac Province representative Jasmine Omay.
5. Try not to be overly conscious of your skin.
Trying different products to see what works for your skin may like a sound a good idea initially, but one must tread carefully! Putting different things on your skin may actually be counterproductive and might even cause more problems.
"Never be conscious about your skin because the more you're conscious, the more you would apply skincare products that you think might help you," says Guiguinto, Bulacan representative Nyca Bernardo. "Just focus on improving your health like drinking enough water and getting enough sleep."
6. Basic hygiene is key.
After all that's been said and done, remember to never neglect basic hygiene as a whole. Angono, Rizal representative Herlene Budol reminds us that it's important to also take care of the rest of your body, aside from your just your face. "Maligo ka lang," she says in jest. But in all seriousness, remember to give the rest of your skin some TLC it deserves, too!
