The Premise

For the longest time, I’d kept what my friends liked to call “beauty queen” hair—long and wavy. But being the hair person that I am, who has a penchant for makeovers, I dared chop it off to a bob. I liked it a lot. However, I had to blow dry and straighten my wavy hair every morning to achieve the look I wanted.

So when Reggie, mentioned this new product from L’Oréal, X-Tenso Moisturist Straightening with Nutri-Cationic Conditioning Treatment, I had both apprehensions and interest. For one, I’m scared of the damage it might inflict on my strands. For another, I especially fear the broomstick hair I’ve seen on many rebonded locks.

The Treatment

I went to Freshaire Salon to inquire about this treatment. The salon’s VP for Marketing and Advertising, Cindy Fernandez, was gracious enough to explain how the product works. And because she promised me non-broomstick hair, I gave it a go.
