First off, the place was really pretty. Aesthetic centers always get me a little uneasy knowing the pain that I'll be experiencing behind closed doors, but Skin's creamy walls and soft warm lighting put me at ease. I also learned that three board-certified dermatologists hold clinic at the center, which is always comforting knowing you are in good hands. A cup of The Spa's excellent ginger tea added a special touch, of course. After filling up my client record, I was led upstairs to one of the center's five rooms. There, I was met by Skin’s attending dermatologist who explained the procedure. First step was shaving the area to be treated. I wasn't sure about whether I was to shave my underarms or not before so I opted not to. The doctor said this was okay since at least they could see the follicles, but the technician later shaved them for me. Awkward! I'd definitely suggest you shaving your own armpits to avoid getting caught in that strange situation. Next ice packs were placed on the areas to numb the skin a little. I was warned that I might feel a little discomfort, especially in the areas that had more follicles. Finally, I was asked to wear these goggles to protect my eyes from the laser light and the procedure began.
The laser felt like tiny pin pricks on the skin. It was a lot better than I imagined actually. Definitely tolerable by a mile. Each side took about five minutes each. Ice was then placed again to cool the area and a cortisone cream was slathered.

I was instructed not to shave or pluck during the whole duration of my treatment so as not to disrupt my normal hair growth. Shaving is allowed on the other hand since it doesn’t rip the follicles out. Other than that, I was set to go home and go about my life normally.
The Diode-Radiofrequency combination treatment is definitely the next best thing to actually being born hairless. It went by so fast (I was in an out of there in around twenty minutes!) and the pain hardly measured up to the gain. I'll definitely be continuing my sessions!
