Number of Sessions
Although it is definitely the best bet for smooth, hairless underarms (booster treatments every six months or so are helpful in keeping the hair growth at bay), the doctor explained that the treatments don't necessarily permanently remove hair forever, but they do permanently reduce the thickness of the hair. The number of sessions you need to complete is specific to each individual due to the amount of hair follicles present. Some women are homefree after four sessions, but batting average is six to eight (although more for those with gray, white or blonde hair). The reason for the multiple sessions is that hair has growth cycles. There is the growing phase, the resting phase and the dying phase. The diodes target the follicles in the growing phase, the ones that have pigment, which means that follicles that you don’t target in one session can be hit in the next. This is also why sessions are scheduled a month in between for the first three sessions, and usually six to eight weeks apart for the following.
Anyone with hair can get the treatment, although doctor’s precaution about performing the procedure on patients that are too young. As a rule, they also do not allow pregnant women to undergo the lasers.
