When it comes to the BB Cream craze, we must admit we were late bloomers. But with the strong Korean beauty influence in our country and the various incarnations popping up everywhere coming from unknown drugstore brands to more established luxury labels, BB Cream has fast become as pedestrian a term as foundation.
With the two Bs standing for Blemish Balm, the base traces its origins to Germany where it was created to soothe the skin of patients who had just undergone laser treatments. Because skin was left raw and sensitive post-laser, the cream was invented not only to help cover-up the redness, but to help in skin regeneration. Today, the use of BB Cream has been commercialized, marketed as a wonder skin-refining product that can help in a multitude of concerns from whitening, age-defying and pore-refining.
