Getting to the top of the beauty industry takes a lot of time, talent and proper networking. But while recognition from your peers is a feat in itself, becoming a household name to the public is a whole other matter. Barbie Chan-Friebel is one such rare personality who has managed to brand herself both inside and outside of the industry, especially during her stint as Chief Makeup Artist for Maybelline New York.
Studying her craft meticulously, she finished her first basic beauty course at Make Up Designory in California. After coming back home and showing her portfolio to then Preview Editor, Rorie Carlos (now with Town and Country), she was booked for a shoot and the snowball began. Although her career was jetting off, he continued to hone her craft, enrolling in such schools as the Dinair Institute, also in California, Up to Date Academy in Milan, The Powder Group in New York, Make Up Academy in Munich and even a one-on-one session with top American make-up artist Pamela Taylor.
While she's now based in Europe, Style Bible decided to pick the brain of this beauty insider to share with you some expert make up tips from this top artist.
