We've read that Bumble & Bumble's Artistic Director Howard McClaren said: "The whole idea is to look like you couldn't care less even though, of course, you do." While Bumble & Bumble (their Surf Spray is the holy grail of beach babe waves!) in Manila is a rare sight, it doesn't make Howard's statement less relevant. It makes it more appropriate, in fact, that we have to work harder to get that effortless-looking head of effortful hair.
However, no two people are the same, and that, of course, encompasses matters of tresses. One thing we all have in common, though: the tousled texture goal. Here's how to achieve it, depending on your hair type:
NORMAL HAIR
For the obedient-haired few, opt for a texturizer like Kérastase's, which has more hold than usual that healthy hair can handle. A plus: its scent will have you (and others, most likely) sniffing your locks all day.

THIN/LIMP HAIR
The reality for thin-tressed girls is the more you subject your scalp to heat, the more the oil drags your mane down—more so if you add product. We've realized this can be a win-win situation—limp hair, product and all: A heat-activated spray like Brazilian Blowout's not only makes your mane a lot fluffier, but it's sulfate-free, too, making it safe for treated hair.

DRY/DAMAGED HAIR
Dehydrated hair needs products that'll moisturize no matter how hot it gets. Natural and locally made, Snoe's take on a sea salt spray smells better the longer you have it on.
