Product placements in K-dramas may seem off-putting for some, but come on, who doesn't love a good segue? I, for one, live for a subtle PPL—especially when the writers are able to inject the product so smoothly into a scene that you'd barely notice it.
A perfect example? The eighth episode of Start-Up, where they slyly slid a makeup advert into a scene featuring Seo Dal Mi (Bae Suzy) and Nam Do San (Nam Joo Hyuk).
In the scene, Dal Mi was asking Do San if it was obvious that she'd been crying. Unfortunately, it was, so she whipped out a cushion compact from her bag and started touching up. Do San even turned on his phone's flashlight to help her out!

From the looks of it, the cushion definitely did its thing. Her skin was totally matte again, and you can barely spot the redness around her eyes and nose when she got home!

Some might argue that any foundation could pretty much do the same, but of course, we'd rather go with Dal Mi's personal choice. After some digging, we identified the exact product she used as the Teint Idole Ultra Wear from Lancôme, a beauty brand that also happens to have Suzy as its ambassador in Korea.
According to Lancôme, this cushion compact is oil-free, gives a velvet-matte finish, and lasts up to 24 hours. It promises natural-looking medium to full coverage, too, so the subtle product placement in the drama was totally spot-on.
