Ask An Editor: Do Non-foaming Cleansers Really Work? The lowdown on cleansing your skin sans suds

Do non-foaming cleansers reall work?

The answer is a big YES. Synonymous to the sensitive-skinned, the non-foaming cleanser’s claim to fame is its ability to cleanse without stripping skin of much-needed moisture. Without chemical agents to help create a foamy lather, the cleanser is less drying and is able to impart a thin film of moisture after you’ve washed (or wiped) the cleanser away. Another plus point for non-foaming cleansers is since these products are directed towards people with sensitive skin, they contain no fragrance and dyes and won’t end up irritating your skin!

And for girls who think they have no use for products aimed at sensitive skin, this type of cleanser is best used in the morning to wipe away the miniscule traces of dirt you might have accumulated while sleeping. It's not as potent as using soap, but for the amount of dirt you're washing away, it's good enough to get the job done.
