Business-minded fashion and beauty girls, it's nice to take note of trends as well as unique concepts, especially since there are a lot of tough players in the industry. Last year in New York, Style Bible came across a nail salon called Vanity Projects, basically, a manicure museum due to its various art displays that envelope the space. With art books instead of celebrity gossip magazines at reach, and “moving paintings” in place of floral wallpapers; it was a welcome breath of fresh air.

It's hard not to notice the pop art behind the birthday girl.

Here in the Philippines, we have something similar in Beauty and Butter. We remember trying it out when Ruffa Gutierrez invited us for a spa party to celebrate her birthday last year. We cannot forget its pop art interiors, their signature mark that separates them from the rest. Apart from that though, the salon offers free Ipad (aka Instagram) use, is one of the pioneer bringers of the popular gel manicure in the country, and also one of the few nail spas here that carry organic products.

The IG-worthy nail salon is the brainchild of a young entrepreneurs group led by Mikael Coyiuto. “Combining our penchant for pampering, affinity to technology, and love for the arts, the unique art-meets-grooming concept of Beauty & Butter came to be,” he told Entrepreneur magazine.
