It seems like red is here to stay this 2023, but in a subtler, softer tone. Case in point: Pinoy Big Brother alumni Andi Abaya recently took to Instagram to debut her new copper brunette hair. Apart from dyeing her tresses, she also got a layered haircut with wispy front bangs. Take a closer look below:
Andi’s hair color is referred to as “crunette,” a.k.a. the seamless fusion of copper and brunette with warm, buttery undertones. Even international superstars like Kendall Jenner and Lana Del Rey have sported this color before!
Although Andi didn’t mention the hairstylist behind her new makeover, professional colorists can typically achieve this hue by using a light brown base prior to a golden chocolate color. You also won’t need any harsh bleach in most cases (a level seven should suffice!), meaning your hair will require minimal maintenance and damage repair.
Many may opt to add auburn highlights for additional depth, but Andi went for multi-toned browns instead to add some contrast. The fusion of dark hues also brings out the natural volume of her new snip and the warm undertones of her complexion.
As Andi proves, this hairdo is a great alternative for low-key girls who still want to jump on the ginger hair bandwagon without going all out. Not to mention, the caramel shade is also ultra-flattering for Filipino skin tones!
