1. When she gave the best advice about dealing with body shamers
In a recent vlog, Bea shared about her experience with body shamers, which is unfortuntely something she faces on a daily basis. "I'm sure ang daming nakaka-experience nito [body shaming]. I, for one, I am experiencing this every single day," she said. "'Pag nag-post ako sa Instagram, there are people pa rin who would body shame me consistently."
So what's her advice in dealing with these bashers? "Siguro I've come to realize that you have to love your body and yourself first, para ma-de-deflect mo na 'yung negative energy," she said. Bea also emphasizes the importance of changing for the better for yourself, and not for anybody else. "You should work out for yourself and for your health first, and then 'yung results and 'yung output will come after. You should embrace your own skin, your own body, your curves, and all the flaws to be able to give love to others and be able to present yourself in the best way that you can," she explained.
2. When she posted a bikini photo with an empowering message
Back in 2019, she proudly posted a bikini photo on her Instagram after not doing so for many years. "I want to forget about how I hated myself for being 'fat' in other people’s eyes and just remember the things that I love about my body," she captioned. "It’s the only body that I am blessed with and I am thankful for my health because I get to do the things that make me happy." You go, Bea!
3.When she proved that age is just a number
When a netizen called Bea "old", the actress responded in the most graceful way. In a vlog, Bea read the comment: "Isn't it too late for you to be doing this endorsement watching it you're old to be a model for this commercial may kulubot ka na."
Bea responded by saying, "I am 34 years old, I'm about to turn 35 this year and I am proud of it. I am taking care of myself as much as I can. I exercise, I eat healthy, and parang feeling ko proud ako sa itsura ko at 34 years old." She also called out the culture of age-shaming in the industry. "It's about time na tigilan na ng mga tao na [mag-shame] ng mga tao na nagkakedad," she stressed. "It's 2022!"
4. When she shared her fitness journey on her YouTube channel
Bea revealed in one of her vlogs that she gained over 20 pounds at the start of the pandemic. Although weight gain is completely normal, there's also nothing wrong with wanting to be a healthier version of yourself. This is what Bea proved in her fitness and health vlog that she posted last July 2021. "Now, para sa mga bashers ko, I know I'm not the epitome of fitness, but I'm trying my best to look and feel better than ever," she shared in her vlog.
