5 Ways You're Doing Your Makeup Wrong Abandon these bad beauty habits, stat!

Accomplishing a gorgeous makeup look doesn't really require a diploma in makeup artistry. You just need a little practice in following makeup tutorials. Also, you’re gonna have to ditch certain bad habits. Although these mistakes seem minor, they can have a negative effect on your final look. Read on to learn which blunders you need to avoid.

1. You don’t use primers.

Using a primer is important if you want your makeup to last. It smoothens the surface of your skin, controls oil, and makes your makeup long-wearing. Even the eye primers can serve you well in terms of amplifying your eyeshadow’s color and staying power.

2. You don’t apply makeup in natural lighting.

Natural light helps you see the real shades of the makeup you’re applying on your face. When you do it under a mix of yellow and white lights while indoors or under sunlight, you won’t find your foundation too pale or your blush looking like you’ve just been slapped.

3. Your brow makeup is too strong.

Yes, we’re all for bold brows. But if your arches look like two black furry critters resting on your forehead, that’s how you know it’s time to revamp your brow game. Use light, feathery strokes when filling in your brows to avoid this ugly scenario.

4. You don’t blend.

Flawless makeup is all about proper blending. You shouldn’t see the harsh edges of your eyeshadow, blush, and contour. Also, your foundation should appear seamless. It’ll be easier for you to achieve such using the right makeup tools.

5. You use old makeup.

Unfortunately, good things don’t last forever, even makeup. Expired cosmetics cultivate a colony of bacteria that will cause infections and rashes on your face. Not to mention, your makeup won't work like it’s supposed to when they are past their prime.
