Proper feminine hygiene should be basic knowledge to every woman. Taking care of yourself down there can affect your general disposition and confidence. Neglecting those needs can cause bad odor, itching, discomfort, and even bacterial infections that may lead to sterility, diseases, cancer and other health problems. Below, we give you the five basic rules to keep in check when it comes taking care of your V.
1. Use feminine wash.

Soaps, especially scented ones, can actually cause irritation. Same goes for shower gels and deodorants. Instead, opt for a feminine wash that can provide you with natural care and help keep you feeling fresh and clean.
2. Don’t overclean.
It might sound surprising, but overdoing it can also cause vaginal irritation as it disrupts the balance of good and bad organisms. Clean your feminine area with warm water at least twice a day, and then pat dry carefully. Avoid excessive washing and scrubbing.
3. Don’t stay too long in a bubble bath.
Sitting in the tub for too long will allow bacteria to reach your genital region and increase your chances of getting a urinary tract infection.
4. Be extra wary when it’s that time of the month.
Tampons, sanitary napkins, and panty liners can cause foul odors during your menstrual period. These can also increase the risk of infection when they are worn for long periods of time. Opt for products that aren’t scented and dyed to keep you from being exposed to chemicals that are harmful to your health.
5. Maintain a balanced diet.
In order to prevent vaginal infections and diseases (and to keep your body healthy in general), eat healthy and include plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains in your meals.
