My first encounter with a liquid matte lipstick was way back in 2012. The brand was Lime Crime, and it quickly became the go-to lippie for bloggers, celebs and fashionistas alike. Fast forward to today, and liquid matte lipstick is almost synonymous to a Kylie LipKit. Kylie Jenner set all sorts of records when she released her lippies in a myriad of browns, and they continue to be the talk of the town wherever you go. But, truth be told, there are a couple of brands that are worth exploring in order to get similar results—and at a much more reasonable price than $29. I guarantee you, these lippies won't require a two-month wait.
Here's my list of drugstore liquid matte lipstick finds, and a quick description on what each one feels like when it's applied, plus how long it manages to stay on your pout. So pucker up, and load up on these certified steals:
1. Milani Amore Lip Crème in Obsession, P675, Calyxta

This goes on smoothly and is highly-pigmented. I applied this in the morning, and by mid-afternoon, it was still 80% intact. Not bad, considering I had Spaghetti Bolognese for lunch that day.
2. Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Forever Eternité, P575, Watsons

The formulation of this lippie is a bit more sheer so it requires a few more swipes than usual. If you aren't into heavy makeup, this one's perfect for you. In terms of long-wearing power, this one stayed on for about three hours.
3. Happy Skin Glam Squad Liquid Matte Lipstick by Denise Go-Ochoa in Naked Peach, P699, Beauty Bar

Local wonder brand Happy Skin released this lippie just about a month ago, and it's already getting rave reviews. I can see why—the texture is comfortable and boasts 100% full coverage. I didn't need to reapply until four hours later.
4. Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania, P390, Zalora

This can be a bit tricky to apply, although I think the goth shade was probably half the problem. Darker colors are, admittedly, a bit more challenging to apply evenly so this was a bit of a struggle to paint on. It lasted about two hours on my lips.
5. Inglot HD Lip Tint Matte #16, P1150, Glorietta 5

This might not be a drugstore find as it's the priciest of the bunch but it's still less expensive than a Kylie Lipkit AND is in-stock 24/7. Inglot's version is super opaque so one coat is really all you need. It has superior long-wearing power (6 hours on me), and also gets plus points for smelling heavenly.
