Together with blogger and Dove ambassador Saab Magalona-Baccaro, I was one of two Filipinas flown to Paris for the opening of the Dove pop-up store in Rue Saint Lazare. You might wonder what more a store filled with beauty bars and body wash would have to offer, but I can truly say that once you enter the boutique with its clean white interiors, an hour will simply not be enough.

First, find the tree trimmed with Christmas-tree- and stocking-shaped boxes. Open each one and you’ll discover it’s got a ready present (a Dove product of your choosing) within. Already in a pretty package, it’s a quick gift to pick up and give.

Second, another gift idea that you might also want to hoard for yourself, you can have your name or a message engraved on a Beauty Bar, and add hearts or other symbols for effect. And apart from the classic white, there are also three other variants available that smell delicious: a cream-colored vanilla and shea butter, a rose-hued fig with a sweet scent, and a blue bar with jasmine and coconut milk.

Third (and most fun experience in the room), you can customize a Body Wash, Body Lotion, Body Polish or Body Cream based on your skin’s needs and your preferred components. I opted for a bespoke Body Cream and here's how the process went.

Step 1. Measure your moisture. They measured the moisture level of my skin to determine my skin type.
Step 2. Choose a fragrance. I chose the fresh sweet scent of jasmine and peaches from a selection that included creamy vanilla and Moroccan spices with honey rose dew.

Step 3. Choose a skin-benefiting, natural extract. Based on my skin's needs, coconut milk extract was recommended for me, but other options include grapefruit, apricot, cucumber, sweet almond oil, chamomile, and rose water blossom.

Step 4. Add shimmer. Who doesn’t love a bit of shine on her limbs? I opted for rose gold, instead of pearl or gold, for its subtle bronzing effect.

Step 5. Customize the label. You can have your beauty mantra written on the lid or give your concoction a fun name that’s very personal to you. In my case, I went with the latter and christened my pot “Lazy Girl’s Lovely Legs Lotion.”

Whether you’re lucky enough to find yourself in the City of Lights before the pop-up’s last day on December 18, or if you have a friend who is in the area and will be kind enough to do you a beauty favor, there is much to be enthused about this unique Dove experience. Knowing how we all love putting a personal stamp on our products, I wouldn’t be surprised if the store pops up in the Philippines one day. If that happens, we’ll be first in line on opening day.
