Nothing spells out drama like a smoky eye. And even though there are about a million ways to create this look, it’s not always easy. So here, we give you a rundown of three of the easiest products to use to create the perfect smoky eye.
(Eye Shadow, NARS)
Smoky eyes don’t have to be as black as a set of panda’s eyes (unless you’re really pegging Taylor Momsen). Tone it down with a brown palette that flatters most skin tones. It’s subtle for daytime use and can be easily built up to add more drama for your evening look. Start by picking up the product with a shader brush and pat on the lid. Then using a blending brush, sweep the shadow around the lid until diffused.
(Smashbox Waterproof Shadow Liner, Beauty Bar)
Forget gel pots and liquid eyeliners, because this look is all about the chubby stick. It’s the perfect cheat to a quick smoky eye because it gives you a liner and shadow with just one product! Simply draw on a thick line then smudge. Start from the outer corners and then blend inwards using your ring finger.
(Smokey Eye Mascara, Bobbi Brown)
The great thing about this creamy, kohl-pigmented mascara is it gives you fuller lashes without clumping them together to achieve the volume. Its thicker brush base evenly combs though your lashes while the tapered tips make sure even the small, hard-to-reach strands are coated as well. The result: dark stretched out lashes that go perfectly well with your smoky eye.
