Here’s a throwback to her last Preview cover shoot back when she was still a bride-to-be.

Eerily beautiful. That, perhaps, is the best way to describe our October 2014 cover featuring none other than Heart Evangelista.

“We were shooting at the cemetery so it was pretty creepy,” shares the 33-year-old actress, who was sporting an engagement ring on her finger when she arrived at the cover shoot. She was scheduled to tie the knot with the love of her life four months later, but we simply couldn’t wait to see her in a wedding dress—so there, in the middle of La Loma Cemetery, BJ Pascual photographed the bride-to-be wearing a delicate Randall Solomon lace and tulle gown, and the result was so hauntingly beautiful.

“It’s always a blast to work with Preview and it’s always an experience. I loved the gowns and I loved how they played up with the looks. It was a bit dark, and I like going dark sometimes,” Heart tells us, her memory of the shoot still vivid two years later.

She even recalls how much she adored the old San Pancratius Chapel where a number of her layouts were also shot. “It felt nice to be different. It wasn’t the typical princess-y shoot that I usually do, so I truly enjoyed everything about it, especially the color of my lipstick,” she quips, pertaining to the no-nonsense nude and vampy deep-berry lippies that celebrity makeup artist Albert Kurniawan chose to achieve her dark, romantic looks. Needless to say, the then-single Love Marie was a sight to behold, and no one could’ve been a more perfect muse to front Preview’s big beauty issue.

Fast forward to the present day and two years into her marriage with Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero, Heart considers herself a happily married woman. “We are madly in love with each other and we enjoy each other’s company, and I think that’s what’s important,” she shares.

She has also managed to further improve her already-impressive resume over the years. She keeps herself busy with passion projects—an art exhibit here, a self-authored book there, and a new home that she proudly claims to be the product of her own blood, sweat and tears. Oh, but her beauty, same as ever: effortless, radiant and unwavering.
