Fringe galore!

We have a long fixated obsession for anything denim. A staple in every girl's closet, we especially love our denim jeans. This versatile piece of clothing is comfortable to wear and easy to pair with just about anything we have in our wardrobe.

Over the years, we've seen different denim treatments imaginable. From bedazzled and ripped to patched and embroidered, there are so many trends that have come and gone. But our personal favorite? Undone hems. The best part is that you can easily do it at the comfort of your own home, and on just about any kind of jeans you own.

Below, we'll show you on how to fray a bi-level hemmed pair of jeans. Scroll down and let's get this DIY session started!

What you need:

But wait—it's not yet ready for fraying! Reach underneath, and for sure you'll unravel the real hem. It's supposed to look undone and raw like this:

Step 4: To create the bi-level hem, cut the front part of your jeans. You can choose to cut at the very edges or leave an allowance for a framed fringe.

Cut accordingly across the hem, depending on how short you want it to be. Just keep in mind that you'll be fraying it, not just merely cropping it. Leave some allowance.

Step 5: For a framed bi-level hem, you should have something like this.

Step 6: Time to fray! Using your seam ripper, tease out the loose ends. Distress it until you're contented with the length of fringe you have.

Step 7: Leave out a few wisps here and there for a messy yet natural look.

Step 8: Repeat the process on the other leg and you're done!
