Where do you stay?
Our native-style beach house in Bubog or at Porto Bambino in Mamburao. I've been going there since I was a child.

What is it about Mindoro that you love?
The wide-open spaces, fresh air, fresh food, time with family, and the warmth of the people.

What's your fondest memory there?
Watching my then 14-year-old brother at Porto Bambino unsuccessfully—but very happily—try to copy some of the Mindoro kids, who were doing handsprings and cartwheels on the beach. Our house in Bubog had a row of these huge rocking chairs lined up on the second floor balcony, looking out to the sea. We had mucho fun playing speed rocking-chair contests.

What do you do when you're there?
Nowadays, we kick back, catch up on reading, play cards or games with my nephews and nieces, visit the orchard, farm, fishpond or radio station; and we get to chat with my parents' friends and kababayans! We've gone on picnics on virgin beaches, snorkel in those areas and have cocktails at sunset.

What clothes do you pack?
I usually bring my ever-reliable Mango jeans (bought in my college days), Miss Sixty jeans, Nobody jeans from Bangkok, a Grab denim mini skirt that I can wear with anything, a couple Lacoste tops, and baby tees in the color of summer—sunset orange, aquamarine, nude, white and salmon. I like to accessorize with vintage pieces from my mom, gifts that I treasure from my dearest friends, little knick-knacks that I bought on my travels and, of course, Havaianas. At night, I usually have casual dresses bought at Baguio ukay-ukay that I dress down with flats or dress up by wearing over jeans and stilettos.

What shoes do you usually wear?
Camel wedge closed-toe sandals from Naturalizer, high pink or teal wedges from HotWind, brown kitten-heeled slip-ons, these fun sandals from Malaysian brand Esarli that are ultra-comfy, and beaded slip-ons my tita gave me from China.

What accessories do you use?
When I travel, it's all about accessories. I'll bring chunky or choice jewelry—necklaces and cuffs; colorful conversation-piece belts; and, for when I'm having a bad-hair day, a bright orange bandana that I bought at a hole-in-a-wall shop in Baguio.

What won't you leave home without?
Books, emergency cash, iPod, mobile phone, L'Oreal powder, Lancome JuicyTubes, Body Shop bronzer, Maybelline Watershine 3D, some clips and my wedding ring.

Top five beauty essentials?
Laughter, rest, hydration, fresh air, and my hubby are all keys to my well-being. Oh and concealer!

Any summer beauty or fitness regimens?
Bikram yoga, fresh fruits, and veggies. I exfoliate, moisturize, use a lot of SPF, get a Kerastase hair treatment, and a good blush like L'Oreal's Blush Delice. I'm very low maintenance when it comes to makeup.
