A small village in Indonesia is gaining traction as the most Instagrammable spot right now, and it's basically rainbow paradise.
This is Kampung Pelangi, a village in Randusari, South Semarang in Central Java. It has been dubbed as the "Rainbow Village" worldwide, thanks to its breathtaking exterior.
The village's new look is result of a local government project worth 300 million Rupiah, which aimed to improve its economy with tourism. Lonely Planet reports that Kampung Pelangi was previously considered a slum before the revamp.
The renovation just finished last month, and the village is a slum no more. It currently houses 223 rainbow-painted homes and has quickly become a hot tourist destination.
Itching to take a pic near these roofs? Here's how you can there!
From NAIA in Manila, book a flight to the Soekarno-Hatta Internation Airport in Jakarta. And from there, you can either travel to Kampung Pelangi by car or via Argo Muria (railway system).
By car, it'll take around 10 hours to reach Kampung Pelangi. But if you choose to ride the Argo Muria, a train will take you to Semarang from Jakarta. Upon reaching Semarang, Kampung Pelangi is a one hour drive south.
