I learned the value of patience.

What: Racosme Nose Lifter

What it is: It's a Korean cosmetic tool that you insert into your nose for an instant tip-up, nose job-like effect.

Current condition: I don't think I have a super defined nose, nor do I find it too flat. What I do have (as I've always heard of from friends, too) is a very small nose. I have never consulted with a cosmetic surgeon about rhinoplasty either, so I don't have a reference on how I could have my nose corrected, if ever.

How I used it: Once I received the package, I examined its contents and found two sets of the nose lifter. Each contained two devices and one hook to remove the nose lifters after each use.

I ordered the super petite size (check all the sizes here) as I have a super small nose. I washed the devices twice with soap and water and studied a couple of times how to insert them into my nostrils. It was a scary experience trying to insert them, for fear of having them inserted beyond reach inside my nose.

According to the instructions, you must always insert the contraption while looking down for safety reasons. Hold the nose lifter at the base, with the jut facing you. Insert its tip first, pushing it upward the nose. Round your lips and move them downwards to stretch the nostrils as you push the rest of it. Do so on the other nostril and pinch the sides of your nose until it snugly fits inside. I used the hook to remove it afterwards.

I did this for an hour everyday, for a whole week, as they recommended for first time users. You later on extend the time you wear the device as you please. I tracked my features in the duration of this review but there was no significant difference after wearing them.

Before: No tools inserted; After: The nose lifter device inside the nose.

Conclusion: I felt quite uncomfortable while wearing it, even if I was just at home watching TV or eating. There's also too much work involved when putting it on and off. I was cautious of my every move, fearing it would get dislodged or that it would get stuck inside. I was also afraid of tilting my head or moving too much. I also had colds that week, so imagine the hard time I had, trying not to sniff the device into my system.

The product promises to correct nasal imperfections and can define and lift your nose after prolonged use, but I figured that it would take longer than a week for actual results to be seen.

To be honest, I would much rather go under the knife and have the shape corrected by an expert rather than waste so much time and effort inserting the tool everyday for weeks on end. But hey, if you've got the patience for it, the one thousand bucks you spend on this will pay for itself eventually.
